A Year of Crises—and It’s Only Just Begun
Here at Neighbors Helping Neighbors, we’ve always stepped in when others step back. But this year, we’re seeing something unlike anything before. It’s only May—and the sheer volume of aid requests and disaster relief needs has already surpassed what we typically face in a full year.
From tornado-damaged towns to flooded farms, families without safe housing, and disabled individuals trapped in inaccessible homes—the calls keep coming, and the needs are urgent. Every day, we’re fielding desperate pleas for help. And while we are honored to serve, our resources are running thin.
Supplies Dwindling, Volunteers Exhausted
Our warehouse is running low on basic supplies—roofing nails, plumbing parts, lumber, water filters, accessibility ramp materials, and more. The core volunteers and team members who give tirelessly are feeling the weight of constant deployments and 100-hour weeks. The need hasn’t let up. And the most sobering part?
Hurricane season hasn’t even started yet.
If it’s already this overwhelming in spring, we’re deeply concerned about what the summer and fall will bring. We’re doing all we can—but we can’t do it alone.
